What is QuickBite?

QuickBite is a hyper-local food delivery mobile application designed specifically for the Indian market — targeting street food lovers, office-goers, and college students who crave quick, affordable snacks delivered to their doorstep.

The app targets neighbourhood snack outlets, chaat stalls, and local food joints — bridging the gap between local vendors and hungry customers

Problem & Solution
⚠️ The Problem
  • Big apps like Zomato/Swiggy ignore small local snack vendors
  • High minimum order values exclude affordable snack orders
  • Complex UX puts off users seeking quick bites
  • Local vendors lack digital ordering infrastructure
✅ The Solution
  • Hyper-local focus on street food & chaat restaurants
  • Simple OTP-based login — no lengthy registration
  • Minimal cart + fast checkout optimised for small orders
  • UPI-first payment flow familiar to Indian users
  • Real-time delivery tracking with delivery partner contact
Design Process

The design followed a user-centered process, starting from understanding the target user — budget-conscious food lovers in Chennai — all the way to a polished, interactive prototype.

Why These Choices?

Every design decision was intentional and rooted in understanding Indian mobile users.

🎨
Orange brand color (#F47C30)
Warm, energetic, and food-associated. It creates appetite appeal while maintaining strong visual hierarchy across all screens.
🔐
OTP-only login
Indian users are highly phone-number-centric. Eliminating username/password reduces drop-off and speeds up the onboarding flow to under 30 seconds.
💰
Transparent pricing
Showing delivery fee (₹30) and tax (5%) separately in the cart builds trust and reduces checkout abandonment — a pain point in Indian e-commerce.
📊
Full-screen orange payment state
Replaces anxiety with a confident, brand-consistent loading experience during the critical payment processing moment.
🟢
Green confirmation screen
Universal signal of success. The color shift from orange to green creates a satisfying emotional moment at order confirmation.
What I Learned

Building QuickBite end-to-end gave me deep insights into designing for India's mobile-first, price-sensitive, and trust-cautious users.

01
Simplicity beats completeness.
Indian street food users want speed — less browsing, more ordering. Every extra tap is a drop-off risk.
02
Trust signals matter at every step.
Showing ratings, reviews, delivery times, and fee breakdowns upfront dramatically improves conversion in price-conscious markets.
03
Emotional design drives delight.
The confirmation screen's green color and the delivery partner card create connection moments that build brand loyalty.
04
Hyper-local is a feature, not a limitation.
Showing neighbourhood and familiar local restaurants creates immediate relevance and trust.
